Subject :
Evolution of genes and genomes after whole genome duplication in teleost fish

Interests :
I am interested in the evolution of genomes and gene regulation, how it
has shaped the diversity of life on Earth.

PhD project :
In my PhD project, I study a whole genome duplication event that
occurred at the basis of the teleost fish species tree, dated 320 Mya.
We seek to analyse the patterns of retention and loss of duplicated
genes across twenty teleost fish genomes. Results should shed light on
the forces that govern the evolution of genomes after a complete
duplication, and thus help us better understand such events that are
also at the root of vertebrates.
